How to choose for the room

Bedroom

Prioritise quiet operation, stable controls, appropriate clearances and the manufacturer’s guidance about unattended use. Do not treat any portable heater as automatically suitable for overnight operation. Keep it away from bedding, curtains and clothing, and consider improving bedding and draught control so the heater can be switched off earlier.

Living area

Check whether the room can be closed. Portable convection heaters work more predictably in an enclosed zone than in a large open-plan space.
