Pantry foods and alcoholic beverages for Australian households
Explore a changing range of pantry ingredients, sauces, seasonings, tea products, beer, cider, spirits and wine. The current Ozbuyz Food & Beverage department has two main branches—Alcoholic Beverages and Pantry. Selection should begin with the complete product label rather than a flavour, lifestyle or marketing phrase in the title.

Read the physical label before consuming the product
Confirm the food’s true nature, ingredients, bold allergen summary, nutrition information where required, use-by or best-before date, storage instructions, net quantity and country-of-origin statement. Current retail foods should use Australia’s Plain English Allergen Labelling format. The physical label supplied with the batch takes priority when online information differs.
Check that unusual powders, seeds and botanicals are supplied for food use
Industrial, cosmetic, garden or ceremonial products can resemble edible ingredients. Buy only products clearly labelled for food use and follow their preparation directions. This is particularly important for poppy seeds, concentrated powders and unfamiliar botanicals. Natural, herbal, organic or traditional wording does not guarantee suitability during pregnancy, for children, with medicines or for a health condition.
Interpret pantry and health claims in context
Compare similar foods using the per-100 g or per-100 mL nutrition column, then assess the amount normally used. Claims such as low sugar, source of fibre, organic, Australian made or Manuka grading must be truthful and supported, but each claim describes only one feature. Read the full ingredients, nutrition, origin and storage information rather than treating a highlighted claim as a complete product assessment.
Check alcohol labels and delivery requirements
Compare pack count, container volume, alcohol by volume and standard drinks. Products over the relevant alcohol threshold require prescribed pregnancy warnings, and most packaged alcohol will need the new energy statement by 13 August 2028 after the current transition. Alcohol sale and delivery rules are administered by states and territories; identification, age verification and unattended-delivery restrictions depend on the licensed seller and delivery location.
