Shop evaporative coolers online - the dry-climate specialist. Evaporative cooling works by drawing air through water-soaked pads, so it thrives where the air is dry: Perth, Adelaide and inland regions get the best results, while humid coastal summers (think Brisbane in February) blunt the effect noticeably.
Used right, they're cheap to run and refreshingly simple: keep a window cracked for airflow (unlike air conditioning, evaporative cooling wants ventilation, not a sealed room), keep the tank topped up, and clean the pads each season. If your summers are humid more often than dry, a refrigerated portable air conditioner is the more reliable spend.
Evaporative coolers are delivered Australia-wide, eligible appliances carry at least a 12-month warranty, and 14-day returns apply. Browse the full air conditioner range and fans to compare every cooling path.
