The Barcelona Chair was exclusively designed by Mies van der Rohe for the German Pavilion, that country's entry for the International Exposition of 1929, which was hosted by Barcelona, Spain. An icon of modernism, the chair's design was inspired by the campaign and folding chairs of ancient times.
The Barcelona Chair we are selling was made with the highest quality possible using premium solid core 304 stainless steel flat bar which is hand made using classic welding and bending techniques. Each square leather is hand selected, piped, tufted and individually sewn by expert leather craftsmen. The cushions rest upon a suspended network of saddle fine leather belt straps.
