For best results, install the lamp inside the filter tank so water flows past the UV tube via your pump. Recommended schedule: 3-4 times per week, typically 10-60 minutes per session; for heavy algae or sick fish, use daily for 1-2 hours (do not exceed 2 hours per session). Safety: Do not look at the UV light, avoid skin exposure, and never expose fish or other organisms directly. Turn off power before handling/cleaning, confirm voltage match, check glass for damage, and stop use immediately if water enters the lamp.
